Volt Festival

The Volt Festival is actually not taking place in Budapest but it is one of the most popular festivals in Hungary and is quite similar to the Sziget Festival in Budapest, playing mainly rock music. It is Sopron where the Volt Festival is held every year and thats why it attracts a lot of people coming from Austria and other countries close to the South West of Hungary. But also many people from Budapest travel down to Sopron to party, drink and dance to the music. In 4 days on 15 stages 200 concerts are held at Volt Festival in Sopron with approximately 70.000 visitors, thats the statistic of 2011. Just to give you a comparison, Volt Festival started in 1993 with 5 bands and 800 visitors.
